Ross WD
Ross WD, a Parry Sound, Ontario-based company that specializes in manufacturing and installing customized vinyl windows and fibreglass doors, filed an NOI on June 15, listing $3.4MM in liabilities. The company's financial difficulties were caused by a number of factors, including delays in a plant reconfiguration and engagement in a commercial project that ran significantly over cost. In addition, a key employee was discovered to have been frequently misquoting prices and making errors in measurements. Due to these financial problems, the company sought out prospective purchasers for its shares or assets. Through the proposal proceedings, the company has sold a portion of its business related to the manufacturing of wood windows, which was not cost-effective, to Heritage Windows and Doors. A marketing and sales process for the remainder of the company's business and assets was approved on July 5. Albert Gelman is the proposal trustee. Counsel is KRMC for the company, Loopstra Nixon for the proposal trustee, Chaitons for BMO, one of the company's secured creditors and Barriston Law for Heritage Windows.
