Toronto restaurant Runway 06 files for bankruptcy

SS&Co. 001 Inc., formerly operating the restaurant and event venue known as Runway 06 at 132 John Street in Toronto, filed an assignment in bankruptcy on December 11, 2025. Goldhar & Associates Ltd. was appointed as licensed insolvency trustee.

The debtor carried on business in the hospitality sector, operating a single-location restaurant concept under the Runway 06 brand. The business operated from leased premises in downtown Toronto, while its registered office was located on Birchwood Drive in Mississauga. The space had high ceilings and frequently hosted travel-themed parties and brunch with live entertainment.

In late May 2025, the debtor abruptly announced via its Instagram account that Runway 06 had officially closed its doors. The bankruptcy filing followed in December. The company lists nominal assets, while unsecured liabilities total over $6.2 million, including $4.7 million owed to Aquanta Group and $1.1 million to landlord RioCan.
