Joriki Inc., which operates facilities that produce certain types of plant-based milks (three in Canada and one in the US), filed an NOI on December 31 listing approximately $203 million in liabilities, including $174.8 million to BNS and $16.1 million to Roynat.
The company recently made headlines for a listeria outbreak at its Pickering, Ontario facility that led to three deaths between August 2023 and July 2024. Joriki, Danone and Walmart Canada are named in a Quebec class-action lawsuit which has yet to be certified over the listeria outbreak.
The company reportedly plans to restructure its business.
