Here’s why the Bank of Canada is worried about the rise of private credit

Bruce Flatt, CEO of Brookfield Corp., says the recent turbulence in private credit is a “healthy adjustment” after a period when abundant capital contributed to looser underwriting standards, adding that Brookfield does not see the current environment as a systemic problem, and arguing that the areas attracting the most concern represent only a small part of the broader credit market.
