Escada Canada Inc., which operated a chain of high-end apparel, accessory, footwear and fragrance stores in Canada, filed an assignment in bankruptcy on October 3, listing $7.6 million in liabilities. The intention of the bankruptcy trustee is to monetize the assets of the company for the benefit of its creditors. The bankruptcy trustee is Grant Thornton. Counsel for the company is BLG.
