Agenda
8:30 to 9:15 - Registration and Light Breakfast
This session will dissect the current market conditions, shedding light on where distress is most prevalent and which asset classes are bearing the brunt. Panelists will compare the current cycle to past downturns, analyzing similarities and differences to provide a historical context. We'll also tackle the burning question on everyone's mind: When can we expect a recovery?
10:00 to 10:30 - Coffee and Networking Break
10:30 to 11:15 - Panel 2: Unpacking Recent Real Estate Insolvencies
The One. Vandyk Group. Hazelton Development. There have been many high profile real estate insolvencies recently. How have these cases progressed? What are the key issues and decisions that insolvency professionals are grappling with? What are the unique challenges when restructuring partially developed properties? Panelists will look to recent insolvency cases for helpful guidance on how best to approach struggling projects in the current economic environment.
11:15 to 12:00 - Panel 3: We Can Work It Out
Many mortgages are falling into default amid challenging market conditions. Is it possible for lenders to work collaboratively with borrowers to resolve these defaults?
