Bankruptcy and Restructuring – Toronto Associate

The Toronto Office of McCarthy Tétrault LLP seeks a highly-motivated lawyer to join our Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with one of the leading bankruptcy & restructuring groups in Canada, with extensive experience in all areas of the practice. Our significant role in most major Canadian and cross-border restructurings, insolvencies and work-outs for over 20 years has earned us a superlative track record in the field nationwide. We regularly represent debtors as well as major financial institutions and other capital providers, large corporate creditors and court-appointed monitors, receivers and trustees. The successful candidate will assist our team in advising our clients on bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring matters.

The ideal candidate will be qualified to practice law in Ontario and have the following credentials:

  • 2-4 years of post-call bankruptcy and restructuring experience;

  • A strong interest in bankruptcy and insolvency with banking, financial services or commercial litigation experience;

  • Excellent academic and professional credentials;

  • Strong analytical, communication and drafting skills; and

  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and client service excellence.
