Responsibilities

  • Assist senior team members with the delivery of consumer insolvency services. 

  • Communicate directly with clients and gather necessary file documentation. 

  • Compile, review, and analyze financial data gathered from clients. 

  • Prepare schedules, reports, and other documents. 

  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes. 

  • Assist in planning client specific courses of action to manage and resolve consumer debt.

  • Review and verify the accuracy of information received from debtors and creditors. 

  • Manage insolvency files, including inputting or revising information for new client files into the Ascend database and preparing documents for sign-up. 

  • Confirm values of assets through online resources or via auctioneer. 

  • E-file initial documents with the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. 

  • Conduct searches of the Personal Property Registry and/or insolvency records. 

  • Ensure a consistent approach and compliance with policies and legislation related to insolvency. 

  • Follow up with clients regarding submitted paperwork or file particulars. 

  • Ensure client information is handled accurately and in a timely fashion. 

  • Provide an open and friendly environment for clients. 

  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, business, and industry. 

  • Perform other administrative duties as required. 

Skills and Experience

  • Completion of related post-secondary education is an asset. 

  • Minimum two years of experience in consumer insolvency professional services. 

  • Understanding of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA). 

  • Intermediate proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel. 

  • Proficiency with SharePoint is an asset. 

  • Experience with insolvency management software (Ascend) is an asset. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Background screening will be conducted, including education, criminal, credit, and prior employment checks. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail. 

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritize accordingly. 

  • Demonstrates an advanced sense of empathy. 

  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
