Alberta Court Grants Mareva Injunction & Receivership Order to Protect Tallcree First Nation Trust Beneficiaries

Matthew Sammon, Jessica Kras and Natalie Workewych of Lenczner Slaght share that the Alberta Court of King’s Bench has granted a worldwide Mareva injunction and appointed an investigative receiver to protect and trace more than $8.5 million removed from the Tallcree First Nation Trust, after finding a real risk that the former trustee could interfere with recovery efforts amid broader concerns over his administration of First Nations trust assets.
